Verizon will raise the price of most Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ plan perks on September 17, 2026, according to a notice on its own support page. The common ad-supported bundle, billed on eligible mobile and home internet lines, goes from $10 to $12 a month. That is $24 more a year on one line, or $96 more on four lines that each carry the perk.
That distinction matters because the increase is not a change to Verizon’s advertised plan rates. A household whose Simplicity, Unlimited Welcome, Unlimited Plus or Unlimited Ultimate price stays the same can still see a higher total bill if it already pays for the Disney bundle through Verizon. The perk auto-renews on the Verizon bill until it is canceled.
Most Disney perks go up $2 or $3
Verizon’s rate table is specific. The ad-supported Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ perk rises from $10 to $12 a month. The ad-free premium upgrade rises from $20 to $23. The “For Movie Lovers” option on Simplicity plans rises from $23 to $25. A non-perk legacy Disney bundle billed through Verizon, which includes Disney+ without ads, Hulu with ads, and ESPN Select with ads, rises from $24.99 to $27.99.
The exception is the $15-a-month legacy Disney bundle perk. Verizon says that price is not changing. That perk is no longer available to add, so customers who still have it are holding a frozen rate that new sign-ups cannot get.
Android Authority independently reported the same figures on August 21, quoting Verizon’s explanation that it is adjusting perk rates as “partners at Disney invest in new content and adjust the rates of their services.” Verizon still pitches the ad-supported perk as cheaper than buying the three apps separately at Disney’s $21.99 list price. That comparison is the company’s own, and it does not change the fact that people already on the perk will pay more after September 17.
The hike applies to customers already enrolled, not only to new sign-ups. Billing starts when the eligible line or Fios account is active and the perk is ordered. The monthly charge appears on the mobile bill when the perk is attached to a phone line or wireless home internet line, and on the Fios bill when it is attached to an eligible Fios Home Internet account.
Who is on the bill, and who should not switch
The $10 ad-supported perk can be added to Verizon Simplicity, Unlimited Ultimate, Unlimited Ultimate 1.0, Unlimited Plus, and Unlimited Welcome. One perk is available per eligible mobile line. The same perk can also be added to 5G Home, LTE Home, or Verizon Home Internet Lite, with the charge on the mobile bill, and to an eligible Fios Home Internet account, with the charge on the Fios bill. Fios Classic standalone plans are not eligible. Welcome Unlimited and Unlimited Ultimate 1.0 can still manage perks in My Verizon, but those plans are no longer available to add.
Customers who still have the $15 legacy Disney+ Premium, Hulu, and ESPN+ perk should not drop it for the “cheaper” $10 option. After September 17 that $10 perk will cost $12, and Verizon says the $15 perk cannot be added back once it is removed. Switching requires canceling the existing perk first. Anyone who upgrades away from the legacy tier and later removes the upgrade also loses the $15 rate and lands on the current ad-supported perk instead.
Other sections of the same Verizon FAQ still describe the ad-supported perk as $10 a month. That leftover marketing copy is not the post-September 17 price. Shoppers should use the dated notice at the top of the page, not older language lower down, when they decide whether to keep the perk.
This is a billable add-on, not a rewrite of Verizon’s listed plan prices. Advertised monthly rates for Simplicity and the unlimited plans do not change because Disney’s perk went up. Taxes and fees on the underlying plan remain separate from the perk charge.
What customers should do before September 17
If the new price is not worth it, cancel the perk in My Verizon before September 17. On a mobile, 5G Home, LTE Home, or Home Internet Lite line, open Products & plan perks, select the Disney tile, then choose Remove. On Fios, manage the perk from the homepage. Verizon says the subscription can be used until the end of the current perk period and that the charge for that month is not refunded or prorated.
If the bundle is still cheaper than paying Disney directly, keep it and expect the higher line on the September or October bill, depending on the billing cycle. Confirm whether the account has the $15 legacy perk before making any change. Do not assume a promotional or trial rate will be held; Verizon’s notice does not say that those rates are frozen.
People who already pay Disney, Hulu, or ESPN separately should read the switch rules before adding the Verizon perk. Activating the perk can pause a Disney-billed subscription, replace a Verizon-billed one, or leave a third-party subscription running until it is canceled. Use the same email address for activation that is on the existing streaming accounts, or the services will not connect cleanly.
The useful comparison is the new total on the Verizon bill against buying Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ outside the perk, not the old $10 headline against zero. Starting September 17, most of these perks cost more while the plan price on the same line can look unchanged.
