C Spire's combined home-internet-and-mobile plan now reaches roughly 500,000 more Mississippi households, by way of a 5G fixed-wireless version of the home connection for addresses outside the carrier's fiber footprint. C Spire announced the expansion on Oct. 12, saying The One Plan starts at $99 a month with a five-year price guarantee for new and existing customers, and crediting upgrades at 36 cell towers for the added capacity. Telecompetitor reported the change independently on Oct. 16, noting that the plan had previously been limited to C Spire's fiber footprint. Where C Spire fiber already runs, fiber stays the home service.
How you pay decides whether you ever see that $99. C Spire's current bundle page puts the regular price at $119 a month with a smartphone device-payment plan or a bring-your-own-device line. Getting down to $99 takes the full $20 discount, which requires AutoPay from a bank account or debit card, plus paperless billing. Pay by credit card and the discount shrinks to $10, leaving the same plan at $109, or $120 more over a year. Taxes, fees and surcharges sit on top. New lines also draw an activation fee, and C Spire doesn't state the amount, so there's no verified out-the-door total.
What $99 covers
- 5G home internet, advertised at download speeds up to 100Mbps.
- An Inseego 5G Wavemaker FX3110 indoor router that handles up to 64 devices and needs no installation appointment.
- One unlimited mobile line with 75GB of high-speed data per billing cycle. Hotspot use is included, but it draws from that same 75GB.
- Calls from the U.S. to Canada and Mexico, plus calls back to the U.S. and data while roaming in either country.
Lines two through six run $30 each after multiline discounts, so two lines with home internet come to $129. C Spire lists three lines at $159 and four at $189.
Where unlimited stops
C Spire's announcement describes the fixed-wireless service as using excess network capacity, with unlimited data and no artificial throttling. The terms on the live offer page are narrower, and those are the ones that govern: C Spire may slow the mobile line after 75GB and the home connection after 1.2TB in a billing cycle. The sources don't say what speeds apply past either threshold, and the pages reviewed don't state typical or minimum home speeds, upload speeds or latency.
The price lock has conditions
There's no long-term contract. But the five-year lock depends on keeping both services: it lasts 60 billing cycles only while an active postpaid wireless line and eligible home internet stay on the same account. Cancel, disconnect or lose eligibility on either one, and the remaining service moves to its standalone plan at standard rates. Kept for all 60 cycles at $99, the plan charges alone come to $5,940, before taxes, fees and activation.
The router stays C Spire property and has to go back within 30 days after service ends. Otherwise a $150 non-return fee applies. C Spire advertises a 30-day at-home trial.
Existing customers face the biggest catch. Anyone currently getting promotional pricing on a device payment plan gives up the remaining device discounts by switching. The sources do not establish the value of the remaining device discounts or the detailed promotion terms.
Check your address
That 500,000 figure is a statewide estimate for select Mississippi service areas, and the pages reviewed don't show how C Spire arrived at it. Eligibility is settled address by address through C Spire's availability check. The release calls the package "unmatched" and describes it as a limited-time offer, though no expiration date has been published.
